THE DETAILS BEHIND THE APP
Terms of Use
These terms explain the rules for using Watchlist and our website. Watchlist is operated by James Storer. Contact us at james@jamesstorer.com.
Effective and last updated: 16 September 2026
1. Using Watchlist
By using the service, you agree to these terms. Use Watchlist only if you meet the applicable age requirements and can legally agree to the terms, or have the permission of a parent or guardian where required. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
Watchlist helps you discover and keep track of movies, TV shows and releases. It provides information and recommendations, not access to stream full films or episodes. You need any separate subscriptions or purchases required by the streaming services you choose.
2. Accounts and your information
Some features work as a guest; account features require sign-in. Provide accurate account information, protect your credentials and tell us if you believe someone has accessed your account without permission. Guest information may be lost if you remove the app or change devices. Account syncing depends on an available connection and the service operating correctly.
You remain responsible for information you provide. You allow us to process and store it as needed to deliver the features you request, as described in the Privacy Policy. This does not transfer ownership of your information to us.
3. Acceptable use
Do not use Watchlist unlawfully, infringe others’ rights, attempt unauthorised access, interfere with the service, distribute malicious software or bypass purchase, authentication or usage limits. Do not use automated access to overload the service or extract content contrary to applicable rights. These restrictions do not limit activities that applicable law expressly permits.
4. Optional Watchlist Plus subscriptions
Free features do not require a Plus subscription. Where offered, Plus is an optional auto-renewing subscription. The features, price, currency and billing period shown in the app and Apple’s purchase confirmation apply to your purchase. Availability can vary between app versions and regions.
The intended UK options are £0.99 per month or £5.99 per year, billed annually. The purchase screen is the authoritative price for your region. A yearly subscription is charged upfront, not in monthly instalments.
Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm a purchase. A subscription renews automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Apple may charge for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends. Manage or cancel it in Settings → your name → Subscriptions. Cancellation normally takes effect at the end of the paid period. Removing the app or deleting your Watchlist account does not cancel your Apple subscription.
Any trial, introductory offer or price change is subject to the information and consent requirements presented by Apple. Refund requests are handled through Apple, subject to its policies and your statutory rights. Use Restore Purchases where available to restore an eligible purchase made with the same Apple Account.
5. Catalogue content and recommendations
Movie and TV information, artwork, logos, trailers, release dates, ratings and streaming availability come from third parties, including TMDB and YouTube. They can change or contain errors. Check the relevant provider’s own listing before relying on availability or making a purchase.
Personalised recommendations may use AI. They are suggestions based on the information available, may be incomplete or inaccurate, and do not guarantee that you will enjoy a title. Feature eligibility and fair-use limits may apply and are shown in the app where relevant.
Third-party names, artwork and trademarks belong to their respective owners. They do not imply that those owners endorse Watchlist. Watchlist uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB. Third-party services have their own terms and privacy policies.
6. Intellectual property and the app licence
Watchlist’s software, branding and original website materials are owned by James Storer or their licensors. You may use the service for your personal, lawful purposes. No rights to reuse third-party entertainment content are granted by these terms.
The iOS app is licensed under Apple’s Standard End User License Agreement. These terms supplement that licence for the Watchlist service; they do not replace Apple’s licence or purchase terms. James Storer, not Apple, provides Watchlist’s support. Your statutory consumer rights remain in place.
7. Changes, suspension and ending use
We may update features or these terms to maintain, improve or protect the service. Material changes will be explained where required by law. Changes to paid subscriptions remain subject to Apple’s rules and applicable consumer law.
We may restrict or suspend access where reasonably necessary for security, unlawful use or a serious breach of these terms. Where practicable, we will explain the reason and give you an opportunity to resolve it. You can stop using Watchlist and request account deletion through your profile or support. Cancel any Apple subscription separately.
8. Responsibility and your consumer rights
We will provide the service with reasonable care and skill. We cannot guarantee uninterrupted access or the accuracy of third-party information. Watchlist is intended for personal use, so we are not responsible for business losses arising from business use.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful, including for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, or death or personal injury caused by negligence. Nothing removes your rights relating to defective digital content, refunds or other mandatory consumer protections.
9. Questions and disputes
Please contact james@jamesstorer.com first so we can try to resolve an issue. Applicable law and your mandatory consumer rights continue to apply. These terms do not require you to give up access to courts or protections available in your country of residence.
